In Massachusetts, crowd-managers are currently required to obtain state certification every 3 years. Certification consists of training in fire-safety, and the responsibilities of a crowd-manager, including to fill out the fire-safety checklist every shift. In Massachusetts, applicants for certification complete a 1 hour online training course, followed by an exam.
